Welcome to the website of the White-Beaked Dolphin Project (WBDP)
The White-Beaked Dolphin Project (WBDP) was established in early 2007, with the aim of raising awareness about white-beaked dolphins in Scottish waters and establishing a long-term research project to monitor the occurrence of white-beaked dolphins around Scotland. Information on white-beaked dolphin biology and identification features can be found by following the links below.
During August 2007 a field study was carried out in the Minch off the west coast of Scotland, aimed at determining the current distribution and status of white-beaked dolphins in the region and establishing the feasibility of this region as a long-term study site. The results of the survey have now been published, and information is available by following the WBDP field research 2007 link.
