Great shearwaters off Aberdeenshire, 12 September 2007

One of three great shearwaters observed during a cetacean survey trip offshore from Stonehaven (see bottom of page for details of these trips):

Our boat trips are primarily aimed at monitoring cetaceans, particularly bottlenose dolphins which are seen frequently along the coast of Aberdeenshire.  However, a variety of seabirds (typically including shearwaters, skuas, storm-petrels, divers, gannets, gulls, auks etc), may potentially be seen.  Please email (Caroline.Weir  at  ketosecology.co.uk) if you are interested in joining boat trips, which usually depart from Stonehaven (13 miles south of Aberdeen) at 10am on a Friday or Saturday (weather allowing) and last for 4 to 5 hr.
